Staff will meet you at the airport and handle the customs process, then you'll exchange currency before heading to the hotel. After checking in, you'll have dinner and settle in for the night.
You'll eat breakfast and then drive toward Dja Reserve, traveling through Somalomo, Ayos, and Messamena. Lunch happens along the way, and after you'll complete reserve entry procedures and go into the park with porters, a guide, and cook. The group reaches camp by evening and you'll sleep in a tent.
After breakfast, the 16 km trek to Chouam Rock starts through forest habitat where you'll spot buffaloes, sitatunga, monkeys, antelopes, and various birds and butterflies. Once at the rock, you'll have time for wildlife photography and then spend the night camping there.
You'll walk back to Somalomo after breakfast, watching for animals and plants along the trail and picking forest fruits as you go. By evening, you'll reach Barthelemy's Inn for accommodations.
Breakfast leads into a visit to a pygmy camp where you'll try hunting, fishing, honey collecting, and foraging for forest fruits. Water carrying and raphia wine production are part of the day, plus you'll see how fire is made traditionally. Traditional medicine is discussed, and after dark there's dancing around a fire, followed by dinner and a night in a tent.
After breakfast, you'll take a canoe back along the River Dja to the village, then ride by vehicle back to Yaoundé. You'll check into the hotel and have dinner at a local restaurant serving traditional food.
Following breakfast, your driver will pick you up from the hotel lobby to take you to the airport for your departing flight.
