You'll land at Douala International Airport and head to K Hotel Douala for check-in. The late afternoon is yours to do as you like—if you're not too tired, take a walk through the Bonanjo district to get a feel for the city. Dinner happens at either the hotel's Kotcha Restaurant or up on the rooftop terrace, your choice.
After breakfast, you'll leave around 08:30 or 09:00 for a 2.5 to 3 hour drive heading south. The route takes you through tropical vegetation and passes through Edéa before arriving in Kribi. Once you check into Les Gîtes de Kribi, grab lunch at the oceanfront restaurant. The afternoon is for relaxing—head to the pool or beach, then grab drinks at the beach bar before dinner.
Following breakfast, you'll depart around 09:30 by taxi or hotel car to reach Lobé Waterfalls, which is just 10 to 15 minutes away. A traditional pirogue takes you to where the Lobé River flows directly into the Atlantic Ocean. After lunch featuring fresh grilled fish and prawns at a nearby restaurant, spend the afternoon at the beaches, checking out local crafts, or relaxing at the lodge pool or getting a massage.
Today is for rest and exploring at your own pace. In the morning, take a long beach walk from the lodge toward the Kribi lighthouse and fishing port, or just swim and relax. Lunch happens at a beachfront restaurant that the lodge can recommend. During the afternoon, you can wander through central Kribi's small market and cafés, or book another pirogue excursion at sunset. Dinner is at 'Au Plaisir du Goût' where you'll have ocean views.
You'll have early breakfast and check out around 08:00 for a 3.5 to 4 hour drive to Yaoundé, then another 1 to 1.5 hours south to reach Nkolmetet and Oveng Lodge Éco Hôtel & Spa. Arriving mid-afternoon, you'll check in and have a late lunch or snack. After that, explore the surrounding area—stroll along trails or the waterfront, rest up, or book spa treatments for the coming days.
This day is about slowing down and connecting with nature. After breakfast overlooking the forest, take a guided nature walk to see local flora, birds, and the surrounding scenery. Back at the lodge, you'll have a restful afternoon to read, journal, sit by the water, or book a spa treatment. Dinner at the lodge brings the day to a close with forest sounds around you.
Depart after early breakfast for a full day heading to Mefou Primate Sanctuary near Yaoundé, about 1.5 to 2 hours away. You'll arrive for the 09:30 guided tour (make sure this is reserved beforehand) and spend 1.5 hours walking through the forest watching gorillas, chimpanzees, and various monkey species while learning about rescue work. Lunch is in Yaoundé or as a picnic, followed by a short tour of the city with stops at notable buildings or craft markets. You'll return to Oveng Lodge in the late afternoon.
After breakfast, head out with your driver and guide to Ebogo Ecotourism Site near Mbalmayo for pirogue trips on the Nyong River. Meet your local guide and board a pirogue for a peaceful 30 minute ride through forest lined river scenery. Late morning brings a forest walk to the giant 'millennium tree,' which is believed to be several centuries old and spans several meters across. Lunch features traditional Cameroonian dishes at a small village restaurant or as a picnic. The afternoon is free—take a second pirogue trip, go birdwatching, relax by the river, then head back mid afternoon.
Leave Oveng Lodge with enough time to account for traffic and reach Yaoundé-Nsimalen Airport based on your flight time. Before you go, settle any personal expenses at the lodge like spa treatments, drinks, and extras. Then head to the airport for check-in and boarding, wrapping up your journey through Cameroon.
