You'll arrive in Yaounde where someone meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel. After you settle in, dinner is arranged and you'll stay the night.
Following breakfast, you head to the airport for your domestic flight to Garoua, then transfer to Maroua to check in. If weather cooperates, you'll see the tanners' quarter, a handicraft center, and the local market before dinner and your overnight stay.
An early start takes you to Pouss market where nomads from Chad and fishermen cross the Logone River. Mousgoum, Massa, Arab Choas, Kanuri, and Kotoko peoples gather there. You'll also visit the Mousgoum trolleybus in Murla and meet the Sultan of Pouss before heading back to Maroua for dinner and the night.
Starting early, you reach Mokolo on market day to watch Kirdi peoples from the Mandara mountains trade authentic handicrafts and traditional items. Then you'll head through Koza pass where terraced cultivation uses ancient Mafa techniques in sculpture, basket weaving, and blacksmithing with great views over the Chad plain. You'll stay at Flamboyant Hotel.
After breakfast, you travel to Tourou market where Hides and Goudour women wear traditional calabashes on their heads. Moving through the lunar landscape of Kapsikis, you reach Rhumsiki with its volcanic terrain. You'll visit the crab wizard, artisan quarter, and watch a traditional Kapsiki people dance before dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, you travel through the region's most interesting area with a market stop on market day. The Kola gorges have unique rock formations carved by erosion into the Mayo Louti riverbed. Later you'll arrive in Garoua, the regional capital and birthplace of Cameroon's first president, and check into your quiet hotel.
A very early departure begins your journey, as it's a long drive to the Atlantika Mountains for trekking among the Koma people. After preparation, you start hiking and arrive by sunset. Your tent bivouac camp gets set up, dinner happens, and you'll sleep in tents.
You rise early and eat breakfast before a full day hiking in the Atlantika mountains with the Koma people who maintain their traditional culture. Later in the evening, a traditional dance performance happens. Dinner sits around the campfire and you'll stay another night in tents.
The morning hike takes you back down to Wangai, then you drive to Garoua and arrive by evening. You'll check in at your hotel, have dinner, and stay the night.
Morning time is flexible depending on your flight schedule, so you can relax or explore the city. You'll transfer to the airport for your domestic flight back to Yaounde, then head to your hotel in the city for dinner and overnight.
You'll take a city tour of Yaounde, then head to Batoufam to see the royal palace which functions as a museum with labyrinthine corridors and imposing Bamileke architecture. The Bandjoun palace follows with its distinctive design and cultural objects museum. After visiting Bapa's royal palace museum, you'll stay at a hotel in Bafoussam blending traditional art with modern style.
Following early breakfast, you go to Foumban to explore the royal palace of Bamoun, its extraordinary museum, and the largest Tam tam box. The craftsmen's quarter and copper foundry quarter come next. Later you'll reach Dschang with a Metche Falls stop, tour the Museum of Civilization, then head through Dschang cliff to Melong-Mbouroukou and check into Villa Luciole.
After breakfast, you travel to Douala with a detour to Ekom-Nkam waterfall where part of the Tarzan movie was filmed. Once in Douala, you can shop at the arts and crafts center at the flower market or other locations before heading to the airport for your flight and the end of your stay.
